This exhibition features a collection of fairy tales: amusing and eerie, for both children and adults, ranging from the absurd to the unknown, and blending modern with traditional. Almost all the showcased works were specially created for this exhibition.
The exhibition explores the world from which all adults emerge, illustrating how childhood fairy tales integrate into today's serious world, making it better, and more beautiful, and helping us come to terms with unsolvable challenges. Moscow's best contemporary artists use various techniques, from illustrative to allegorical, to connect today's calculated world with the handmade beauty and magical fiction of fairy tales.
Fairy tales disarm, reducing pretentiousness, and making things cleaner and kinder. In this project, serious Moscow authors reveal a new side, presenting their work in a sincere fairy-tale context.
Despite being often seen as children's stories, a fairy tale is a significant literary genre with educational motives. It teaches the ability to face unsolvable problems with hope for a miracle and faith in fantastical powers.
