The painting depicts a young man gazing hopelessly upward at the sky. Behind him on the wall, there is graffiti depicting the "Ascension of Christ." The graffiti, on the one hand, points the way to salvation, and on the other hand, it is a sacred symbol turned into just another drawing on the wall.
